Free Python source, tests and examples for checking a task handoff locally. No dependencies, network calls or file uploads.
Python 3.10+ and access to your own stable directory are required. It checks task states, missing blockers/next actions, dependency references/cycles, and completed-file SHA256 hashes under your selected root. Limits: 1,000 tasks, 500 KB manifest and 10 MB per file.
python check_handoff.py examples/handoff.json --root examples python -m unittest -v
Ask your Dot or other agent to create a handoff manifest following the included example, run the checker, fix structural problems, and compare the actual work with your acceptance criteria.
A matching hash proves file bytes. It does not prove that a goal was met, a payment arrived, a remote job is running or an action is permitted. No official Dots export format, certified integration or OpenAI affiliation.
